This policy explains what Paper Trail (receipts.feetham.us), operated by Will Feetham, collects and how it is used.
Receipt photos are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to extract the details. Anthropic processes the image to return the data and, under its API terms, does not use API inputs to train its models. Nothing else is sent to any third party except, if you connect one, your own Google Sheet.
If you choose to connect a Google Sheet, the app asks Google for permission to create and edit files that the app itself created (the drive.file scope). It cannot see or change any other file in your Drive. The app stores an access token so it can keep adding receipts while you are away. You can disconnect at any time from Setup, which deletes the stored token; the spreadsheet stays in your Drive. The app's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Receipt data is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database and photos in Cloudflare R2 storage. Stored Google tokens are encrypted. Data is kept until you delete the receipt or the workspace.
Only members of your workspace, according to their role: owners, admins and viewers see every receipt in the workspace; members see only the receipts they added. The operator can see workspace names, owners, member counts and usage counts for the whole app, and has technical access to the database for maintenance.
The app uses one cookie to keep you signed in and a short-lived one during Google sign-in. No advertising or analytics cookies.
If this policy changes materially, the date above is updated and a notice is shown in the app.
